The Surround Sets all have unique features for recording surround sound. There are three different types of microphone sets, the details of each set and information about their respective qualities and applications can be found below. The microphones can be used in any configuration. However, when combined with the special S5 Surround/Decca Tree Mount, you have endless possibilities for capturing the nature of the environment in which the microphones are placed. The S5 Surround Mount can be used for Decca Tree as well as many other main surround sound array systems.

DPA Microphones offers three surround kits for use with the S5 Surround Holder:
5006A Surround-Set
The 5006A Surround Set includes five carefully matched 4006A omnidirectional microphones. Although the standard tolerances on the 4006A omnidirectional microphones are already very tight, the surround tuning here is even tighter-within ±0.5 dB.
5015A Surround-Set
The 5015A Surround Set includes five carefully matched 4015A wide cardioid microphones. Although the standard tolerances on 4015 wide cardioid microphones are already very tight, the surround tuning here is even tighter - within ±1 dB.
S5 Surround Mount
The S5 Surround/Decca Tree Mount is an extremely versatile and stylish microphone mount. The Surround mount offers extreme flexibility due to its unique building block design. It allows numerous configurations and always convinces with visual elegance.
On stage, the holder is barely visible and completely non-reflective. It is equally suitable for fixed installations and mobile setups and can be conveniently stored in the supplied bag. The S5 Surround Holder is compact and extremely lightweight, yet at the same time very robust and stable.
