Cutting-edge ADI-2 remote software from RME released
RME's ADI-2 series of AD/DA converters brought professional features to the home and hi-fi market. With the new ADI-2 Remote RME raises the bar for user-friendly solutions even higher.
Full software control under MacOS, iPadOS and Windows
The ADI-2 Remote software controller provides an easy to understand, intuitive and comprehensive interface to manage all settings and options of the ADI-2 series. Supported devices are the ADI-2 DAC FS, ADI-2 Pro AE, ADI-2 Pro BE, ADI-2 Pro and ADI-2 Pro FS, ADI-2 Pro FS R BE and ADI-2/4 Pro SE. The ability to control the ADI-2 directly from the software is not only a welcome addition for those who like to experiment with the ADI-2's many features, such as the integrated parametric EQ, loudness and crossfeed, or with the DAC's different filter types (SD Sharp, NOS, etc.). In fact, it's very useful for any user. EQ settings and even complete setups can be saved and loaded on the computer and iPad. EQs for specific headphones or applications can be easily shared with others. Device status backups can be saved and loaded, and a device status can be easily copied and transferred to all supported platforms.
The ADI-2 Remote software consists of several main pages: Line Input (for ADI-2 Pro and ADI-2/4 Pro SE), one page for each output (Line Out, Phones Out, IEM Out, etc.), a general device page with all channel-independent settings, and a PEQ Editor that allows editing, saving or loading PEQs without changing the currently active EQ. Below the graphical user interface, the ADI-2 Remote communicates with the hardware via a USB MIDI port. The connection is made as usual via USB 2.0 to a Windows computer, a Mac computer or an iPad. The used MIDI protocol can be downloaded from the RME website.
System Requirements
On Windows, the application requires Windows 10 or higher with support for Direct3D 12 and RME's MADIface Series driver v0.9827 or higher. MacOS users need at least 10.11 (El Capitan) without additional drivers. The app for iPadOS runs on all iPads with at least iOS 12.4. Using the app also requires an update of the ADI-2's firmware, which is available as a Flash Update Tool (FUT) for Windows and MacOS. The ADI-2 Remote is available as free download for Windows and MacOS in the Download/Software section of the RME website. The ADI-2 Remote App for iPadOS is available in Apple's App Store.
