G108

Balanced
headphone amplifier

True balanced headphone amplifier (4 output stages) with the highest transmission quality. The G108 is optimized for high output voltage, lowest noise and lowest distortion.

Due to its high internal operating voltages on the one hand, the low output impedance on the other hand and the internal 7-fold switchable amplification it is ideal for driving low - to high-impedance dynamic headphones and magnetostats. The signal inputs (XLR and RCA) are switchable. Via valuable 25mm solid aluminum buttons the volume and balance control is done on the front. A toggle switch can be used to switch stereo, mono or phase swap (left channel)

The G108 has an unbalanced headphone output with 6.3 mm stereo jack, balanced headphones can be connected via a 4-pin XLR. The power supply with ring core transformer is provided by the built-in power supply with IEC plug. The housing, front and rear are made of black anodized aluminum. The lettering is lasered.

The headphone amplifier cookbook

Why A HEADPHONE AMPLIFIER AT ALL ? Isn't it true that headphones are just a small loudspeaker and therefore only need - if at all - a small amplifier? The headphone amplifier is a device for conditioning an audio signal with the purpose of adapting it to the special characteristics of a headphone? This doesn't sound particularly sensational in the first moment and can also be done with little effort. But it turns out, as with almost everything, that the devil is in the details and a certain amount of effort is required to have one amplifier for all headphones if possible.
