This omnidirectional microphone offers clean and transparent sound quality with plenty of headroom. The sensitivity of the microphone is 6 mV/Pa. This corresponds to the level of the human voice and the general input sensitivity of most radio transmitters. When properly powered, the microphone is capable of handling very high sound pressure levels up to 134 dB SPL, allowing users to both speak and sing into the microphone without a hint of distortion. The maximum SPL handling is an impressive 144 dB.
Technically advanced mechanical headset mounting design
The one-size-fits-all headset is the most advanced design on the market. It provides comfort, even during longer wear, without sacrificing safety. Its shape hugs the head gently and snugly and is easily adjustable. The spring mechanisms that grip around the ears are gentle, but firm enough to keep you feeling secure during your performance. The headset can also be customized in the field to fit each performer perfectly. These features are also why it won the prestigious Red Dot Award in 2019.
One size fits all
The frame of the headset is made of stainless steel and has a Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) coating, which makes it extremely durable. It can withstand high temperatures and is resistant to impact and abrasion. The frame is one size fits all with a simple adjustment mechanism for quick and easy sizing. Anatomically correct, it fits snugly and comfortably around the head thanks to its unique shape. The entire microphone has a pleasant matte look thanks to the coating, which makes the entire headset look small and less obtrusive than other headset solutions. It also adds nothing to the size of the microphone, as the PVD is extremely robust and extremely thin at the same time.
3-POINT ear grips
The ear grips on the new headset consist of a very impressive technology. Most headsets have either a 1- or 2-point grip system that rests on the ear or (sometimes) grips below the ear. This headset relies on a 3-point grip system - it adds a support area behind the ear that pushes slightly inward. This not only allows the headset to fit more securely around the head, even during shocks, but also makes it very comfortable to wear for extended periods of time. In addition, the advanced ergonomic shape of these earpieces adapts to the shape of the head.
The CORE Miniatures are certified to IP58. This resistance is achieved through a number of protective mechanisms:
- Water-repellent nano-coating of the lid and housing.
- Hermetic sealing of the sensitive amplifier in the core of the microphone
- Double gold coating of the diaphragm

90° CABLE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
The headset has its cable guide directly on the back of the headset frame, so you can easily organize the cables to run them unobtrusively down the back of the performers. The cable guide can be slid from side to side so that it can be moved out of the camera's field of view, for example. The special design also separates the cables from the boom movement, ensuring that the cables are not tightened when the boom is moved. This helps to ensure that the microphone cables have a long service life.
The cable is often the weak point in this type of microphone, but we have chosen to use the same cable size (Ø 1.6 mm (.06 in)) as usual. It is extremely robust, does not tangle and is equipped with an inner core of Kevlar that can withstand rough pulls and is the highest standard on the market.
The cable, the capsule and the design of the headband provide immunity to noisy wireless devices. Headsets typically connect to a wireless belt pack and we offer a comprehensive mix of adapters to fit the many wireless transmitters available. All DPA connectors are equipped with a rugged strain relief.
