ADAT™-AES3-S/P-DIF digital audio format and sample rate converter

The Mutec MC-4 is a multi-channel, high-performance digital audio format converter for ADAT™, AES3 and S/PDIF signals. The MC-4 converts eight channels each of ADAT™, AES3 and S/PDIF digital audio signals, with uni- and bidirectional conversions possible at up to 192.0kHz. SMUX2 and SMUX4 formats are also supported, which transfer ADAT™ signals at higher clock rates than 48.0kHz.

Unique is that the MC-4 can convert two eight-channel signal sources with different audio formats and clock rates bi-directionally and simultaneously using the X-SRC mode. For this purpose, the MC-4 is the only device in its class to include a 16-channel sample rate converter section as standard, with two audiophile-optimized PLL synthesizers guaranteeing the best sound quality in all working modes.

An extensive feature set with various working modes allow the use of the MC-4 in a very wide range of applications. Incoming audio signals are basically converted into all three audio formats simultaneously. If clock rate conversion is required for this, the SRC section can be synchronized to a word clock, an AES11 reference (separate input available), or any audio input, for uni- or bidirectional conversion!
