DPA sets new standards with the new 4099 CORE+ instrument microphone

DPA Microphones has set new standards for clarity, control, and versatility with the introduction of the 4099 CORE+ instrument microphone and an innovatively redesigned instrument clip solution, ushering in the next generation of its renowned instrument microphones. The 4099 CORE+ features DPA's most advanced distortion reduction technology, providing a broader dynamic range, enhanced tonal transparency, and greater authenticity. The result is a microphone that exceeds expectations.

Years of user feedback and technical refinements have gone into making it perform at an unprecedented level. With a dynamic range 10 dB wider and a higher clipping point than its predecessor, the 4099 CORE+ captures the nuances of each instrument with unadulterated detail, even in challenging environments. It features CORE+ by DPA technology, a groundbreaking, patent-pending innovation that sets a new standard for distortion-free microphone sound. CORE+ technology eliminates the nonlinearities typically caused by a microphone's diaphragm and electronic components, setting new standards for sound recording.

Not only has the company upgraded the classic 4099 microphone with CORE+ by DPA technology, it has also developed a completely new mounting system. This new system offers a seamless and secure user experience with an even wider range of instruments. The innovative G-MOUNT gooseneck mount features a two-stage locking mechanism. It allows for precise one-handed positioning of the microphone and significantly improves vibration isolation and overall stability. The new mount is backward compatible with many existing DPA clips, ensuring a smooth transition for current users.

Selected clips, such as those for cello, piano, and microphone stands, have been redesigned for optimal usability, adaptability, and acoustic performance. The new XLR-MOUNT expands the clips' functionality by enabling the attachment of 19 mm pencil microphones or XLR adapters.

Like all CORE+ by DPA microphones, the upgraded 4099 features DPA's innovative MicroLock connector, which provides a secure connection for live performances. Combined with an improved shock mount and windshield, the microphone system is now more robust, flexible, and powerful than ever.

4099 Loud SPL version (6 mV/Pa sensitivity) is available now.
4099 Extreme SPL version (2 mV/Pa sensitivity) will be available in Q4, 2025.
