Two Notes
Captor X Pro
Multi-Impedance (4/8/16Ω) Reactive Load Box, Programmable Passive Attenuator, & Stereo DI
In collaboration with the specialists at Ampete Engineering, Two Notes is setting new standards in modern amp management. The Captor X Pro features a reactive 150-watt power cabinet, programmable attenuation, advanced Torpedo™ processing, and uncompromising routing, all housed in a durable metal enclosure ready for the road.
Reactive load with multiple impedances and programmable passive attenuation
The Captor X Pro is based on a new reactive load with multiple impedances (150 W), which supports 4-, 8-, and 16-Ω amplifiers from a single unit while preserving the dynamics, playing feel, and harmonic sound of a connected speaker cabinet. A relay-controlled, programmable passive attenuator with multiple precision attenuation levels complements the reactive load. This allows amplifiers to reach their sonic sweet spot without excessive volume. When complete silence is required, the Captor X Pro seamlessly transforms into a professional direct recording solution, eliminating the need for a speaker cabinet.
Triple-load architecture
Each amplifier responds differently to the load it encounters. The Captor X Pro's "Triple-Voiced Load Architecture" gives it the flexibility to adapt to this behavior. It offers three distinct load characteristics optimized for a much broader range of amplifier designs. Whether you’re looking for vintage warmth, modern articulation, or the reproducibility required for profiling, measurements, and AI-based amp capture, you can optimize the interaction between the amplifier and the load with absolute precision.
True Stereo DynIR™ Engine
At the heart of the Captor X Pro is the latest generation of the True Stereo DynIR™ engine. This engine allows two microphones, or static impulse responses, to be positioned independently within the stereo field with separate processing chains and output assignments. Dual-mono routing further expands this flexibility, enabling fully independent speaker, microphone, and post-processing chains for professional live, studio, and recording workflows.
DynIR™- Speaker simulation
The Captor X Pro is based on DynIR™ technology and features 24 high-quality virtual speakers, each of which offers eight industry-standard microphones with continuously adjustable positioning. This provides access to over 160,000 impulse responses from a single speaker, delivering the realism, flexibility, and consistency that have established DynIR™ as the gold standard for professional speaker simulations.
Virtual Load Shaper
The Captor X Pro's Virtual Load Shaper, which is preset-based, extends reactive load technology beyond conventional hardware. By applying selectable impedance curves after the reactive load stage, musicians can fine-tune their amplifier's feel and response without modifying the amplifier or connected speaker cabinet. The Virtual Load Shaper makes it easy to tailor any amplifier to different guitars, playing styles, and listening environments by tightening the low-frequency response, enhancing attack, and improving harmonic richness and dynamic behavior.
Professional Routing and Effects Architecture
The Captor X Pro is designed to seamlessly integrate into even the most demanding guitar setups. Its mono pre- and stereo post-effects loop architecture allows for the flexible integration of external hardware processors. Balanced stereo line/direct box (DI) outputs, a dedicated speaker output, USB-C, MIDI, and headphone jacks ensure effortless connectivity in live, studio, and recording environments. The Captor X Pro adapts without compromise, whether you’re using a traditional tube amp, a hybrid rig, or a modern modeling workflow.
Total Control with Torpedo Remote
All key functions are accessible directly from the Captor X Pro’s front panel. More detailed settings can be adjusted using the Torpedo Remote app, which is available for macOS, Windows, iOS, and Android. The intuitive user interface is designed for both stage and studio use and allows you to manage up to 128 built-in presets, configure routing, edit DynIR™ cabinet settings, adjust Virtual Load Shaper settings, and assemble complete performance setups.
