Now available: The new RME ADI-2/4 Pro EX!
The latest generation of RME’s renowned flagship AD/DA converter and reference mastering hub, the ADI-2/4 Pro EX, is now available. This model combines state-of-the-art ESS converters (ES9823Pro A/D and ES9039Q2M D/A) with advanced hardware and an enhanced set of features for professional studio, mastering, and measurement applications.
Thanks to RME’s revised Extended Linear Analog Range (ELAR) technology and optimized analog circuits, the system boasts the highest signal integrity, improved signal-to-noise ratios, and minimal distortion. The new SteadyClock EX ensures maximum clock accuracy, is factory-calibrated to ±1 ppm, and features fine-tuned sample rate adjustment of ±50 ppm. This enables precise device synchronization without the need for a separate word clock signal.
The device also sets new standards in the analog signal path. Reference levels as low as -35 dBu allow for direct connection of dynamic microphones. For demanding vinyl and phono setups, it offers adjustable balanced input impedances (94 kΩ/47 kΩ), RIAA equalization in line mode, and a dedicated ground connection.
The hardware includes a lockable USB-C port, a channel-independent DC protection circuit for the headphone outputs, and active protection against overvoltage and reverse polarity. The ADI-2/4 Pro EX is the perfect tool for state-of-the-art audio workflows thanks to its flexible monitoring features, such as direct routing of ADAT channels 3/4 to the headphone path.
