The DeEsser uses a unique technology to reduce sibilance in a mix or on vocal tracks. It automatically detects sibilant frequencies and targets them specifically, whilst leaving neighbouring frequencies unaffected. These sibilant sounds are then mixed back into the main signal in reverse phase to cancel out the sibilance. The result is a sonically neutral, unobtrusive and highly effective process. Even at high s-reduction levels, de-essing has only a negligible impact on the character and timbre of the voice.
