The 6060 and 6061 CORE subminiature lavalier microphones are only 3 mm in size and available in a normal and loud SPL version, but as powerful as the larger, award-winning DPA microphones. They more than make up for their small size with their clarity, consistency and durability - three important qualities. With the more compact design of CORE by DPA technology, DPA ensures you don't have to compromise between sound and aesthetics.

Compact CORE technology in a 3 mm housing
Meanwhile, DPA has scaled down the great CORE technology to fit into the 3mm Subminiature microphones. This means that despite the small size, the performance of the 6060 CORE subminiature products can be compared to 5 mm mini capsules that are popular all over the world. These subminiature microphones have a lower noise floor than other 3mm capsules on the market and are better able to pick up high sound pressure levels (SPL) without distortion. In terms of technology, the 6061 has a noise floor of only 26 dB(A), which compares loosely with DPA's 5mm miniature capsules.
SOPHISTICATED NEW MICROPHONE DESIGN
The tiny capsule has a cap that can be removed for cleaning. Then put it back firmly on the microphone housing until you hear and feel a click. The cap supplied is sized to fit the low-boost grid of our 5 mm versions. Both the microphone itself and the cap are made of stainless steel and have been PVD-coated (Physical Vapor Deposition) for their extremely robust design. This makes them resistant to high temperatures, impact and abrasion. Thanks to the coating, the entire microphone has a discreet matt look. The headband appears smaller and more inconspicuous overall.
The design of the cable, capsule and boom makes the microphone immune to noise-sensitive wireless devices. The microphone is usually connected to a wireless beltpack. For this, we offer a wide range of adapters to connect the various wireless transmitters. When used with an adapter, the connection is made via our MicroDot connector. But we also offer hard-wired connectors that are compatible with the most popular systems from manufacturers such as Shure and Sennheiser. Our connectors are all equipped with a robust strain relief. It's the only 3 mm microphone that offers the DPA sound quality you love and appreciate.
Certified according to IP58
The CORE subminiatures are certified to IP58. This durability is achieved through a number of defence mechanisms:
- Double gold plating of the membrane
- Water-repellent nano-coating of cover and housing
- Hermetic sealing of the sensitive amplifier in the core of the microphone
